Thanks to a Community Oriented Policing Services (COPS) grant from the Department of Justice, our office will once again be able to place a deputy in the Hot Springs County school system.  We feel that, in addition to the security and law enforcement that the deputy will provide, he or she will be a sounding board for some students with a person they trust.  A SRO (school resource officer) has been hired and is already on the job.  He is also an enthusiastic bicycler.  The bicycle will continue to be a valuable tool for the office.
