The role of the Planner`s office in Hot Springs is a multi-faceted one.  The office works closely with the Commissioners, the Land Planning Board, and the County Attorney.  Each new subdivision must be reviewed by the County Planner.  This involves reviewing easements, septic system designs, access roads, and enviromental concerns.  The planner must work closely with the Department of Transportation and the Department of Enviromental Quality.  In Hot Springs County, the protection of the Sage Grouse has been given a high priority.  This office has worked closely with wildlife groups and the petroleum industry to assure that the conditions remain that will ensure a healthy Grouse population.

Please feel free to contact our office if you have questions concerning land use of any kind.  We can help you with information about drilling a new water well or how to prevent erosion on your property.  We cover a wide range of subjects, and, if we don`t know the answers to your questions, we`ll get them for you.
