Hot Springs County Commissioners

The Board of County Commissioners in Hot Springs County consists of three members with staggered terms of four years.  The Commissioners authority embraces practically every phase of county government.  Among other duties, the Commissioners set the budget, and provide for the construction and maintenance of county buildings.  The Commissioners may lay out, alter or discontinue any road running through the county.

Brad W. Basse
Vice-Chairman
 
Mr. Basse is an electrical engineer. He is a graduate of the University of Nebraska. He is co-owner of Jadeco Electric Co. Mr. Basse has served on many boards and committees in the County. He was originally appointed to the Board of County Commissioners and then was re-elected for another term. He has been re-elected for a second full term starting in January, 2009

John P. Lumley
Chairman
 
Mr. Lumley is presently serving his second term as Hot Springs County Commisssioner. He has a long history of service to the County. He has served as deputy sheriff and was elected to three terms as county sheriff. He has been active in many community activities, and has served as president of the Kiwanis Club. He serves on many comittees and boards in the County and at the
State level including locally, the Board of Trustees for the William H. and Carrie Gottsche Foundation.

Mike Baker

Mr. Baker is a former state legislator and local farmer. He was appointed in May, 2010, to replace Dr. Frank Manning, upon Dr. Manning's resignation for health reasons.
